Clinical & Field Education

RDS Canada provides rich and varied learning opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students from a range of disciplines such as social work, nursing, occupational therapy, psychology, medicine, business, fine arts and others.

During their time with us students will have an opportunity to learn more about:

  • dementia, with an emphasis on rare and young onset dementia
  • government policy specific to health and public health, aging, diversity and accessibility
  • the structure of health and social care and support for people living with dementia and their families
  • relationship building skills
  • individual, couple, and family support assessment and supportive counselling skills
  • group work skills
  • advocacy skills
  • development and delivery of educational and public awareness tools
  • program evaluation and research skills
  • record keeping
  • cross-national support delivery
