Frequently Asked Questions

Can I leave a bequest to RDS Canada in my will?

Making a bequest or a planned gift means leaving a charitable gift in advance through your estate to leave a lasting legacy.  By making a planned gift to RDS Canada, you can leave a legacy while directly supporting those who are affected by rare and young onset dementias.

A bequest is the most common planned gift, however there are many planned giving options that can help you maximize your impact and tax benefits, while balancing your personal and financial needs.

Visit: Planned Giving I Support North Bay (nipissingu.ca) to learn more about your options when considering a planned gift.

Can I host a fundraising event on behalf of RDS Canada?

Third-party fundraising events are planned and executed by individuals or community groups who are passionate about supporting a charitable organization. In the age of digital and social media, individuals are empowered more than ever to support causes like RDS Canada by hosting in-person or virtual fundraisers. Hosting a third-party fundraiser is a wonderful way to champion the work of RDS Canada and engage your supporters and networks.

Can I support RDS Canada through Student Scholarships, Awards or Bursaries?

Establishing a student award is a wonderful way to directly support Nipissing students while contributing to the important work of RDS Canada. Currently, students are involved in RDS Canada by working with the direct support team to plan and deliver support, assisting with the implementation of research projects, and participating in public engagement and advocacy initiatives.

Donors can decide on the name of the student award and the eligibility criteria in collaboration with Nipissing Advancement.

Visit giving.nipissingu.ca/student-awards to learn more about this opportunity.

Can I make a memorial gift in memory of a loved one to support the work of RDS Canada?

Memorial and tribute gifts are meaningful ways to remember or honour a loved one. When leaving a special gift in a loved one’s name, the next of kin or honouree may be notified of your generosity. Please be assured that we will not disclose the amount of any individual donation. By using the RDS Canada online donation form, you can make a memorial or tribute gift and identify your loved one and their next of kin.
